      About Us

Based in Bolton, Bright Beginnings Nursery is run by a team of highly qualified and trained staff that provides childcare services tailored to the needs of you and your child. We have over 10 years of experience in the childcare sector, providing high-quality services in different early years, primary, and special needs establishments.

We have a unique approach and by far the best approach for children. We provide curiosity and awe to our setting and encourage our children to be in a natural and homely environment. We aim to deliver personalised learning through quality, natural and unique resources.

This provides your child with the opportunity to learn and prosper using natural resources in a home-like environment. We also offer sensory learning, along with many more extra-curricular activities.

One of our many special features is the Forest School program, which is a long-term nature-based outdoor learning  that focuses on holistic development and growth in children. Forest school activities develop confidence, self-esteem, imagination and physical ability as they are allowed to test their limits in the natural world.

We strive to ensure that all children are ‘school ready’ when leaving us and have an accelerating bright start to their school years which will create ‘better futures’ for all  children at Brighter Beginnings Nursery!

      Our nursery

The rooms within our nursery are generously proportioned, carefully planned, and broadly resourced to create inspirational learning environments in which children can nurture and learn with confidence.

We pride ourselves on offering children a broad range of activities and access to outdoor play areas, with the opportunity for regular outdoor learning experiences across all areas of the curriculum.

      Oral Health

We are part of The Greater Manchester Oral Health Transformation Team!

At Brighter Beginnings we deliver a Tooth Brushing Programme in our Nursery.

As set out in the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, we ensure that we promote good oral health of children. We have included this  because good oral health habits need to be formed from an early age. Tooth decay is largely preventable, but it’s still a serious problem among young children, effecting around a quarter (25%) of 5 year olds!

Some parents have even reported that their child who was once a reluctant brusher, is now happily brushing their teeth at home as  they brush at nursery!

The Brush Bus has supported children to learn about dental care and the rules of brushing their teeth. The experience has been enjoyable for our children.

      Forest School

We have a dedicated Forest School area which all of our children attend throughout the week.

Forest school is a different way of learning, the ever changing outdoors, the passage of time, the changes in seasons, nature, different sources of smells and textures. Our large outdoor, resourced environment can stimulate learning in a very different environment.

      British Values

‘Fundamental British Values’ is part of the statutory prevent guidance. At Brighter Beginnings we tie in our Golden Rules with our British Values.

The Fundamental British Values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect and tolerance.

       Democracy

As our team plan different days, we always ensure activities are child focused. Making sure everyone gets the same opportunities, but also that the activities are tailored to individual interests.

Children at Brighter Beginnings are encouraged to choose an activity they would like to take part in, from the ones set out. These activities are a mixture of theme based/child interest.

Children are also given opportunities to vote, daily choice boards for snack/Rhyme board, talking about emotions and feelings with visuals to aid their learning, and turn taking/sharing throughout the environment.

      Rule of Law

We incorporate British Values through our 5 golden rules for our children.

      Our Golden Rules include:

      • Using their manners
      • Sharing and Taking Turns
      • Listening when others are speaking
      • Playing nicely with toys and books
      • Kind hands, feet and bodies

The children are supported to identify acceptable and unacceptable behaviours in the community.

       Individual Liberty

We help children to develop a positive sense of themselves. Every time we provide opportunities for children to gather wildflowers, mix their own colours for leaf painting or take part in a sack race, we are helping them to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and increase confidence in their own abilities.

We provide a range of experiences that allow children to explore the language of feelings and responsibility, reflect on their difference and understand we are free to have different opinions.

       Mutual Respect and Tolerance

It’s important for our Nursery to ensure we are promoting an understanding of the range of different religions, cultures and their celebrations from around the world. We usually do this by having the children participate in different activities including artwork, food tasting and dress up.

The toys we provide at Brighter Beginnings Day Nursery are also reflective of all religions and cultures, ensuring everyone has something to play with.

It’s important to ensure you’re not just doing the bare minimum to promote these values. For example, only having notices on the walls of multi-faith books on the shelves, will fall short of ‘actively promoting’ these values at your setting.

Working in partnership with parents and/or carers is central to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Its important to consult parents about their child's early experiences. Working in partnership with parents and/or carers is central to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Its important to consult parents about their child's early experiences. It's also important for parents to talk about what their child's likes and dislikes are as this helps practitioners plan for effective learning at the setting. Not all parents have the facilities and opportunities to do messy/ fun play. This is why we plan Stay and Play Sessions for our parents to have that time in our setting where we can facilitate fun/ messy play with learning intents.

By doing this our parents are supported to continue their children's learning.

We also hold many workshops for our parents so that they are familiar with the EYFS and child development.

We also hold School Readiness, Phonics, What to Expect When in the EYFS 2021, 2 year Progress Check, Communication and Language and many more events for parents to attend.
